Natures' alarm clock
wakes me up with the 5a.m. summer, morning, symphony, White-crowned sparrows,"tweet, tweet," outside my bedroom window. Time to get up and make me a pot of coffee.
I'm moving kind of slow as I stroll out front with my brimming cup of "joe." (coffee that is) The sun rises, and I sit down on the bench to watch my front yard, neighbors, The Robins,
The Yellow Finches,
The Sparrows, The Morning Doves, The Cardinals
. Some birds flying in and out of their,12ft tall, high-rise, pine tree; while other birds fly in and out of their 12ft. condominium, Blue Spruce tree, that is next to it. The trees are about 10 feet away from my front door.
"Chirp, chirp," baby birds chirping for breakfast, I can't see the nests because of the thick, intertwined, overlapping branches. I think, Amazing how many birds nest in these two trees.
I take a sip of coffee, and my wakening eyes look up at the Sparrows perched on the telephone line, chattering one to another, "cheep, cheep." Yes, cheep telephone rates for short distance.
"Coo, coo," Mourning Dove perched and cooing, a good morning greeting, "Coo, coo," a soothing, pleasant sound that relaxes me. "Ah," no car traffic, just the peaceful sounds of nature. I sip my cup of coffee, and clear my depressed mind of the 21st century, evening news that was about human civilization; murders, rape, kidnapping, bloodlust, etc. Depressing News sponsored by anti-depressants.
I take another sip of coffee, "Hmmm," and reflect, Last night after the 21st century, evening news, I wanted to see if there was a good show on t.v. So, I "flicked" through the t.v. channels; "flick," gore; "flick," bloodlust; "flick," violence, "flick," murder, and "flicked," off the t.v.
Pavlov? Whet the appetite?
Gulp down some coffee, and look into the nature of life. A pair of Mourning Doves mating; a sparrow has a long, strand of cloth for her nest; Robin with a worm in her beak flies to her chirping, baby birds, "Chirp, chirp." Natural behavior.
I watch and sit silently with open ears to listen to the lessons of nature. My coffee cup is empty, and I am full of the harmonious sounds and peace of Nature.
So, I went inside and downloaded my feathered friends' bird sounds from the internet site, CORNELL LAB of ORNITHOLOGY,THE MACAULAY LIBRARY free bird sounds, and as I played the Mourning Dove recording on my Windows Media Player, I heard another Mourning Dove, cooing, "Coo, coo," outside my living room, window screen. Then I played the white sparrow sound, and voila', I heard the sparrows that were perched on the Maple trees branches accompany my recording. My ears followed the high notes up to the baby-blue sky, and I saw big, white, puffy clouds hovering over a small sparrow singing away on the telephone wire. Oh, I wish that I could've recorded and filmed this natural, orchestrated, surround sound of music.
